The first in a very long line of updates to the ITNinja site was released this last weekend. Our next update will be aimed at addressing improvements to navigating deployment tips and browsing Q&A content. In this most recent update, we have implemented the following:
- Better spam controls. There are new admin features that help us control all new content, including the fact that all new members are reviewed before content they submit appears online.
- Members can remove their own content
- Additional formatting options when posting Answers to questions (html, images, text formatting)
- Members are directed back to the page they were on more consistently after being asked to log in
- The Deployment Tips page shows an accurate count of the tips most recently added by software package
- Members are now forced to provide reasonable length strings on new content contributed
- New safeguards on uploads allows a large number of image types (and only image types)
- Many AppDeploy software pages that were consolidated into the same ITNinja page weren't being redirected properly but now are
- Slight behavior change on answer and tip incremental voting controls ensures one and only vote per member that is still changeable
- Q&A home page now shows correct count of answers more consistently
- All non-critical login page requests now use https properly
- Intermittent problem related to some members not being able to upload images in blog posts has been fixed
- Intermittent problem related to some members not being able to view inventory records on software tag home page has been fixed
- Empty fields when submitting blog posts or shared links no longer generates an error
- Various other minor formatting and miscellaneous bugs
