BASIC PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

Seeking a highly structured, result-oriented technical leader with experience in revision control, software build automation, Windows Installer, software distribution technologies, Microsoft Windows, RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux), SLES (SUSE Linux Enterprise), development tools infrastructure design.

OVERALL OUTPUTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Continuous Integration Engineer must be flexible and highly adaptable to changes in infrastructure and new technology standards and must be willing to assist with other projects and tasks as assigned. The ideal candidate will be familiar with SCRUM and agile development methodologies.

In this position, you will perform several roles including but not limited to:

· Maintaining Revision Control or Source Code tools. Expert knowledge of source control management systems and code branching/merging strategies is required. Experience with Subversion, ClearCase, or Perforce is required.

· Experience administrating and integrating issue-tracking systems such as Atlassian Jira.

· Coordinating with development teams to keep source code organized and builds as fast as possible.

· Creating and refining Automated Builds. Experience with CruiseControl.NET, NAnt, CMake, CPack, VBScript, InstallShield Standalone Build tool is highly desirable.

· Coordinating with test teams to automatically test builds.

· Producing, storing, and presenting clear metrics. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server relational databases administration and Microsoft SharePoint is required.

· Maintaining corporate software distribution or automated deployment tools. Experience with Microsoft SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), Microsoft SMS (Systems Management Server), Symantec’s Altiris Deployment Solution, Attachmate's WinINSTALL, BMC Software's Marimba, IBM's Tivoli, Microsoft's Group Policy Software Installation Extension, or Novell ZENworks is desirable.

· Working with developers to produce Windows Installer Packages (.msi) that meet or exceed Microsoft’s Windows Installer Logo Requirements. Experience with InstallShield, Wise Package Studio, or Windows Installer XML Toolset is required.

· Creating Microsoft Merge Modules (.msm) to deliver software components to internal and external customers.

· Creating InstallShield Setup PreReQuisite (.prq) files to deliver redistributables from disk or the web.

· Producing scheduled and expedited software upgrades and updates that are web deployed via Microsoft Patch Packages (.msp).

· Creating Microsoft Windows 7 compliant CustomActions to assist internal customers with unique deployment needs. Experience creating CustomActions is required.

· Testing all 3rd party hardware and software components that are to be integrated with products sold by Vital Images. Experience in troubleshooting, maintaining and supporting device drivers, video drivers and video cards is required.

· Defining future hardware and operating systems for workstation, server, storage, and load balancing devices. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (XP, XP 64-bit, Vista, 2000 server, 2003 server, and 2008 server) is required. Knowledge of NetApp, EMC, F5, HP, Dell, and other industry leading hardware is desirable.

· Providing guidance on new technologies, assisting in process definition, documentation and continuous improvement in best practices, and assisting in the development and deployment of Vital Images products and services.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

· Minimum BS in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or related technical field.

· At least 1 years of applying Object Oriented Design concepts to production-level code.

· At least 1 year experience troubleshooting enterprise hardware.

· At least 1 year experience with Microsoft SQL Server relational databases administration and Microsoft SharePoint.

· At least 2 years experience managing Subversion, ClearCase, Perforce, or other reputable revision control system.

· At least 2 years experience with InstallShield, Wise Package Studio, Windows Installer XML Toolset, or other Windows Installer editor.

· At least 4 years of experience in software deployment, revision control, software build automation, or related technical field.

· Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification is highly desirable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to physically rack hardware such as servers, switches, network attached storage, and other rack-mountable devices that can be up to 70 lbs. Ability to move and configure other hardware.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hours can vary and expand as dictated by project demands.
