3rd Party software fail to install on client (SCCM 2012 Client)
Can anyone help with this please? I have exhausted my research with this issue.
I have about 506 machine all fail to install 3rd party patches. The weird part is that 5 thousands other systems did not fail 3rd party patches. Windows Updates all install fine on those same systems.
I have tried the following below so far:
- Redistribute those packages to all DPs. Funny why I should do that if others in the same location install it fine, right. Still did not work.
- Check SCCM boundaries and did found few that are not in SCCM boundaries so some problem system. So I’ve added them to rule that out. Still did not work.
- Check to see if those systems got the appropriate certificates on them to authorized install 3rd parties patches. Found a few that don’t have them but even after install the certificates still will not install the 3rd parties patches.

First, please apply the 'Code' style to the log text.
Second, I'll wager that BITS has stopped working. It may not even be started. See this article for details on how to fix that.
If that's not the problem, BITS is probably broken on the target systems. If I'm right, when you remote to one and bring up the Services MMC plug-in, you'll see that the service's 'Startup Type' is shown but the rest of the data you'd expect to see listed for it (e.g. 'Status') is blank. You will be unable to do anything with the service in that state. It won't stop, restart, or anything.
There is a CMD floating around which applies a set of ACLs to the service, which fixes the issue. I had a copy but can't put my hand on it at the moment. Note, however, that my experience was that certain clients would persistently exhibit this behaviour at random times and required rebuilding.
