Admin Script Editor - Script Packager issue

I have recently started using ASE for PowerShell scripting.  I like the tool overall, especially the ability to package a script into a single .exe.

I built a script, added 3 external files, and made the external .exe multiple times over the course of several weeks.  The other day, the comiple process suddenly stopped working.  When I click the Create EXE button, I now get a message saying "Packager error: An error was ecountered while preparing the Script Packager for adding new scripts [32]"

I get a .exe file which will not execute.  It is much too small to contain my external files.  I have tried rebooting my machine and uninstalling/reinstalling ASE.  Those have not corrected the error.

Is there any documentation covering an error message like that?

  • After further testing, I have found that the Destination folder is the key. If that is on a network I may get this error. It seems to happen less frequently when I am on a wired network than when I am wireless.
If I change the Destination folder to be on my local hard drive, then I do not get the error. It's not quite as convenient, but at least there is a way to keep using the tool. - robbkester@gmail.com 9 years ago
