Adobe Reader Steals Default Viewer Status

I spent the time to find the CMD flag to keep reader updates from taking default status away from other viewers a while ago and before I had a chance to make a record of it my machine rebooted on my due to updates and I have been able to track the information down again since.

Hopefully someone here has the information as I have spent more time that I want to think about trying to find this again. It doesnt seems to be readily available in adobes documentation, and the customization wizard does not have the option available as far as I can see.

The flag leaves the current default alone

Thanks for any help tracking this down again.

  • Great find! I was going to suggest looking into managing default applications/file type associations within windows. I am sure that is stored in the registry somewhere. - Jbr32 11 years ago
