Allow Reverse DNS Lookups with Web Marshal

Hi all,

We have recently deployed TeamViewer in our network enviorment, however we are having issues with our standard users accessing the TeamViewer servers.

Basically, for our standard users we have a whitelist in place where they cannot access anything on the internet unless we have allowed it through WebMarshal. We have spoken with TeamViewer support who have said that all we need to do is allow *.teamviewer.com through WebMarshal which we have already done, however users are still not able to connect.

We can see in the WebMarshal Monitoring that TeamViewer appears to be trying to access specific IP Addresses rather than a domain name. Teamviewer support have said that all of these IP addresses point to a *.teamviewer.com address if a reverse DNS lookup is performed.

I was wondering if anybody knows how to configure WebMarshal to perform reverse lookups of IP addresses so that our users are able to use TeamViewer?

PS: Hope I am doing this right! I am an ITNinja virgin!

Regards!

Nevermind guys! Spoke with WebMarshal support and was able to sort it out.

Managed to fix this by allowing all IP address URLs through WebMarshal as a Standard Rule.
Not really the same as doing a reverse DNS lookup but has still managed to fix the problem.

We have also set the "Allow IP Addresses" rule below all other filters in the list so that it is one of the last things checked (just to make sure users aren't putting the IP address of blocked websites in instead)
