Application Blacklisting - working?

Hello,

I am trying to implement Blacklisting Applications but do not see any current/recent notes about it. I have followed the instructions, but am still able to launch the application I have blocked (iTunes).

Older posts indicate it may take a few days to be effective.  Is this still true?

Thank you.

Application blacklisting works. Make sure you do following

1. Enable Application blacklisting for the  respective apps from Inventory->Software Catalog page

2. Apply the ApplicationControlDevices label on the devices where you want to enable application blacklisting.

The task will kick off in next 15-20 mins and will block the apps.

Abhay,

Thank you for the response. I've done exactly that! and it is not blocking the application. It's been on for over 24 hours now and I can still launch the application it should be blocking (iTunes, in this case). The workstation in question has even been rebooted and I have forced an Inventory twice. Still no luck.

Thank you.

Can you check on the client if a file "ksw_blacklist" is created under C:\ProgramData\Quest\KACE folder and if present, does it have correct Itunes executable name in it?

Abhay,

There is a ksw_blacklist file,  however it is empty. The timestamp indicates it was updated today too.

Thank you.

After the configuration in kace, you must perform a reboot on the device
