Can I display a list of HOSTNAMES thru IPSCAN and deploy agents
Hi Guys,
I would just like to ask if I can show the HOSTNAMES(Not only IP ADDRESS) when I perform IPSCAN.

Hi Gssalvilla
It's not that complicated...
1) Start a new scan schedule (Choose Action > Add New Item)
2) Fill in the various fields as appropriate. Check to make sure the DNS Lookup is enabled, and make sure the DNS address is correct.
3) Save it
4) Now, this confuses some people... If you click the check box for the schedule you just made, and then Choose Action > View Scan Inventory, you will get the PREVIOUS Scan Results. Try this yourself - create a scan to look at a subnet that is NOT part of your environment... I used 74.125.225.1-255 (Google), and yet when I click the box and go to Choose Action > View Scan Inventory I get the previous scan on my domain.
The Scan Inventory is about what you've done in the past - NOT about the schedule you've just created and selected (at least - not yet)
At this point if I go back to Choose Action > View Scan Schedules and I click the Google scan check box, and then run it by Choose Action > Scan Selected Items Now The screen that will show up is my previous scan inventory. Wait a few moments, and then click the Refresh box in the lower right corner. You will see the new items start to populate the list as the results come back.
5) Once you are sure the scan is finished, Choose Action > Export to CSV Format It will create a file Network_Scan_Results.csv
There is an option to enable DNS in the scan. Make sure that the DNS server that is listed is accurate (it pulls this from the Network settings under the control panel) and it should include a list of the host names. After you view the scan results you can export them to a csv file to further manipulate the data.
