Dell CCTK How to interpret the language, hmm
So, I do not have much experience with scripting, programing, cmd, powershell etc... What I do have experience with is reading til my eyes bleed.
Im basically new to managing machines at a corporate level.
I have found the need to adjust the BIOS Settings on nearly 700 machines do to lack of planning on the persons I have taken over for. As I get ready to start patching with the K1000, I need a way to wake machines over night / weekend which I can do with the K1000, but found that a BIOS Setting or two is making this not work. I came across the Dell CCTK and started to look at it after instlling only to realize that the language does not match what you see in the acuall BIOS making it very hard to figure out what to change or even touch.
Anyone have a good article on how to decipher the code dell is using in CCTK.
What I need to do is:
General>
Boot Sequence> Onboard NIC> Checked/Enabled
System Config>
Integrated NIC> Enabled w/PXE
Power Management>
Low Power Mode> Uncheck/Disable
Deep Sleep Control> Disabled
Remote Wakeup/Wake on Lan> Enabled/LAN Only
I think that would cover all scenarios / models we have, mostly OptiPlex 3020's
I just don't get the connection to these settings in CCTK, maybe I'm just not cut out to use this kind of tool lol.
Oh, and if I crate a package with only these settings, will it override / change the current BIOS settings and therefor have to set everything in CCTK to match what our current BIOS settings are set at, ie: non WOL settings etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Still wondering about whether the settings will override the BIOS settings if not set in CCTK. I only need to make a couple of changes. So if I push a package created by CCTK, will it olny update the BIOS with those settings, if not, then I will scrap this whole idea and figure out another method lol. - wessdf 9 years ago

Yes, but the issue is trying to match the wording in CCTK to the acual BIOS, not exactly the same. But after a hour or so of playing around, I may have my first package ready, maybe lol. - wessdf 9 years ago
