error: could not write row in a table
Hi,
I'm repacking a software which is around 700 mb and has around 25000 files.
The following error is displayed at the end of compilation:
Could not write row in table: file
In the 'file' table, sequence of all the files is 0 and are shown as errors.
'media' table doesn't have any entries, I create a row with the last sequnce and in the media tab in installation expert I selected uncompressed external files. Files are getting stored externally but the compilation is ending up with the above error.
I'm using Wise 3.1 and 5.1.
Any idea on what could be the problem? any quick help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Prakash

Prakash, your post is in the wrong forum. This forum is concerned with actual errors returned by the Windows Installer engine. You should have posted in 'Package Development'.
Moving on, you need to get up-to-date. IIRC, Wise versions below v5.6 had problems with projects containing large numbers of files. The latest version is v7.2 although even this chokes on some projects. If you have no choice, it may be possible to re-write the sequence numbers using script and the Windows Installer automation object but you're on your own there, I'm afraid. Have a look at the example scripts in the Windows Installer SDK.
