What version are you on? 5.4 have some patches that address issues related to patching. Also SP1 is coming out in Feb.

Also did you setup all the apporporate subscription settings? Patch settings? If you upgraded to 5.4 i would double check them to ensure they are still the same and haven't been changed.

In the spirit of keeping it KISS for me

1. How are you setting your patching settings

2. have you set up base line detection if you are setting patching to download from detections vs full cache

3. if it is at full cache, do you have active patches

If you contact support i am sure they will apply those patches and see if that resolves the issues.

First thing I would check is when do your patch jobs run vs when does your backup occur. If your patch job runs seperate from your detect also make sure it has ample time to complete as well. The log upload failed error occurs on your entwork entirely and is usually caused by heavy traffic or the servers web interface being unavailabel fosr some reason (like backups).

Thanks for everyone's help. This is still an issue so I will open up a ticket. When they find the issue and fix, then I will post it just in case anyone else runs across this issue.

I have picked up your ticket and replied but I will poist here as well so the community can benefit.

The messages above are not errors but informational in nature.

[GetWUAInfoFromXMLFile] ComponentRedist XML file had error: Failed to open file at row 0 col 0
[InstallWUAIfNeeded] Unable to get WUA information from the componentRedist.xml file
[SetAutoUpdatesNotificationLevel] Failed put_NotificationLevel for AutomaticUpdatesSettings Unknown LastError Code was -2145124297
[_tmain] Failed to modify AutomaticUpdateNotificationLevel

This is because we dont use XML to updae from a server

If you are experieniencing patching issues they are unrelated to this in general
