Hi All, I have a doubt regarding Custom Action.

CA failed due to syntax error then how you install that application without opening MSI?

  • What application? What is the text of the Custom Action you have right now? - Ben M 9 years ago
  • The app is broken. You need to fix the custom action or take it out if you want to install the MSI.

  • Perhaps the question should be: How to extract files from a MSI? - dedenker 9 years ago
  • This question was asked to my friend in an interview. Even I was shocked.. So thought of asking the expertise. - sonalitelkar 9 years ago
  • You cant install it, you (always) need to run the MSI, the next best thing is to kill off the CA like EdT mentioned with a transform.

Guess you can try and unpack it for an Administrative install, but ive never tried that with a fubar'd CA - this will get you the gubbins from inside the MSI. - rileyz 9 years ago
