Hiding language bar through registry without rebooting

Hi,

I would like to hide the Language bar which appears in the taskbar through script. I know that the following registry key should be set to achieve this:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\CTF\LangBar\ShowStatus = 3

But this gets active only after reboot. Is there any way to achieve this without reboot. I use Windows 7 32 bit.

Thanks for your help!!

you should look at disabling all together.

  • Thanks ! So does that mean there is no option to hide language bar without reboot? - Jayapriya 11 years ago
  • I could not find one, since windows reads that part of the hive immediately after the user logs in, I doubt it. - SMal.tmcc 11 years ago
  • You don't have to reboot. The user just have to log of and back on. - gimel 10 years ago
