High Sierra (10.13) K1000 Agent Provisioning fails

Using the provisioning tool starting in V8.0 K1000 agents deployed to High Sierra (10.13) via the provisioning tools, i get this network error where AMP connection is not successful. I thought maybe the agent was not supported. But with V8.1 it does the same thing.  Fresh installs of the agent on a new High Sierra install works fine. These Mac's have been in use for a few months and most likely upgraded from Sierra "10.12"  Anyone have any ideas of why the AMP connection does not work? It installs fine, except the connection back to the K1000 can not be established.

Here is the logs.

  • Additional information. I moved these High Sierra back to the original k1000 running 6.4.180 and they are checking in. However, uninstalling the agent and provisioning with the newer version does work. - ctrakarn 6 years ago
    • If you switch kbox hosts, you have to either completely uninstall old agent and install new agent or just push install new agent and do
      amptools host=new.box.host
      amptools retrust
so set new host (if not in filename) and do a retrust to refresh communication certificate - n1md4 6 years ago

Please make sure that those MAC clients can resolve the dns name of the K1000

  • Thanks AbhayR. I can ping the server from ssh and it resolves via ping. It might have something do to with the original 6.4.180 agent installed. - ctrakarn 6 years ago
    • any news on this problem? I'm working at the exact same problem. On Devices with Beta Mojave 10.14 it works fine. - abahelpdesk 6 years ago
      • I have not been able to get this resolved. Fresh installs the agent works fine. Only when you upgrade from a previous version of Mac OSX does it not work. If i install the older agent on the same computer it checks in fine with the old Kace server. But there is nothing obvious on why removing the old agent cleanly and installing the new agent that it does not want to establish an AMP connection. Some observations, is that it will connect to the new Kace server 8.1.108 and register. But it wont keep the connection on. Manual checking (runkbot) and it will update but to the server it appears offline all the time. Just gave up at the end. Hoping the next version works better when it comes to Mac Provisioning. - ctrakarn 6 years ago
    • An error in the log "Provisioning error: K1000 agent failed to make an AMP connection." indicates that there might be an issue with agent unable to talk to server. This could happen if DNS name is not resolving. Can you check konea.log file on the agent? It should have more details. - AbhayR 6 years ago
