Install Firefox Addon using MSI
Hi,
I am working on Charles proxy application and I have a charles.xpi file.
Can anyone suggest how to install this firefox addon for all users via msi?
Or is there any direct command which can be used to install manually using marimba?

I was playing with FF about a year ago +6 months. I found FF a pain to package, and to automaticly import bookmarks was not friendly (think script to open FF, perform mouse clicks, close FF). The business then came to its senses and went with GC because it can use GPO for lock down and not a plain text config file.
There was a period where a business unit wanted FF packaging, I threw the whole lot in to a ThinApp. Just install into the capture, add the xpi, make changes, lock down the plain text config file, close capture - Deploy. noice!
FF is like iTones, it's an end user product, and I don't think it is a very good deployer, or is designed to be super excellent for ThinApp. New version comes out, flush out new version of ThinFF and it replaces the old. Make sure the profile stays in a place outside of the capture, and the updates would go nicely. I say this, because I now package GC for the business, and threw out my FF dev directory after I advised management how difficult it is to manage/deploy. The manage part (lack of lock down on GPO) was a big killer.

With every fibre of my being, I have resisted the instinct to post a LMGTFY link!
See here for details on how extensions are packaged, etc.
