Is it possible to create a new Asset Status?

Looking through the help documentation on the page about "Add or customize asset types," I saw this sentence:

2.
All asset types except Locations. In the Default Asset Status field, enter a default asset status, or a custom one (if they exist).

According to this, a custom Asset Status can be in the list to select a default from. Can someone please tell me how to create a new Asset Status? Or am I reading this wrong?

Click into Asset Management > Assets > Choose Action > Configure Lifecycle Settings.

You'll be able to Create New Status. Unfortunately, you're unable to edit the name of the Status. You can do this however via a ticket rule.

  • Thank you very much. I thought I had looked everywhere but that one was hidden. Thought for sure it would be in the Asset Types config. - kawhite_mb 5 years ago
