Is there a way to determine who uses what software through the KSMA?
I have been tasked by my CIO to determine how many of our users use a specific software. Is this something I can do with KSMA or will I need to use a different route?

So when enabling Software metering the first thing you have to do is make sure you have metering enabled on any device based label.
You can see in the list of labels if any are in that state as you get a little clock icon, if not open any label and scroll down to the "Restrict label usage to" section and then tick 'Device Inventory@ and 'Meter Software usage' saving the label.
What you can then do is go to Inventory>Software Catalog and find the application or applications that you wish to meter.
Open an application and tick the box marked 'Metered' at the top, save the software item.
Finally make sure that you have set how frequently that metering information is going to be collected by your SMA
Go to Settings>Provisioning>communication settings and set the metering setting as you want. I would suggest more than once a day is over the top, I guess it depends how frequently you need to report on the findings.
Save your settings.
You are now good to go, as your agents check in they should enable metering on the products you selected, remember they need time to gather the information and then report it back to the SMA.
Your results will show back in the software catalog, in the software item, down the page in the Metering section
