K2000 SDA Imaging

Hello!

I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but hopefully you fine folk can point me in the right direction. I've got a machine I'm trying to create an Image of, however it's not listing any drives. I'm assuming this is a driver issue, but I've downloaded the corresponding drivers for this machine from the Dell Driver Feed. The hard drive is a Samsung NVMe, however I can't find a simple driver download for it. I was going to upload it directly to the driver folder, but the only downloads I can find for this hard drive are firmware updates, which don't do me any good. Any ideas on how to proceed with this?

Thanks!

Hi, so there is some stuff to clear out before..... if it is a Dell device KACE changed the feed on 9.0 (the latest version) from being their own custom-made to directly using Dell. Now with that in mind the way I do it is the following:

1. Driver feed from the appliance (assuming the PC is there)

2. Upload the driver to the box after downloading them from the OEM site, see this post (I will update it for 9.0)

3. Capture the drivers from a working machine running Windows 10. It is also on the same post from point #2 but you would rather run the copy driver tool instead

If none of that work, I would suggest you go to the OEM so they can get you a deployment driver (hopefully), be aware that KACE only copy the drivers so Windows can install them on the first boot... the KBE driver are different as they are needed so the KBE (a WinPE basically) can mount the disk and connect to your network.

:) hope this helps

  • Thanks for the response! Yeah, this is a Dell device. Everything is working properly on the machine, the hard drive works fine, it's just not showing up within the KACE Imaging GUI. I'm reaching out directly to Samsung at the moment. Hopefully they'll be able to send me what I need. - I3ig-A 2 years ago
    • OK, when you mean "KACE Imaging GUI" do you mean the KBE? If yes, then you either just need to change the SATA Operation from RAID to AHCI in the BIOS or follow this post https://www.itninja.com/blog/view/deploying-windows-on-a-precision-using-raid-no-perc

This is assuming you already followed this KB https://support.quest.com/kb/184391 and used the latest Dell driver pack found here https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000108642/winpe-10-driver-pack - RandomITdude24 2 years ago
      • Yes, my bad, I'm referring to the KBE. I'll give switching the SATA Operation a try. Thanks! - I3ig-A 2 years ago
      • Just wanted to follow up on this, changing the SATA Operation fixed this! Thanks again! - I3ig-A 2 years ago
