k2000 v3.5 WIM image fail. Cannot set temp path to work in: The system cannot find the path specified.

My wim deployment keeps failing. 

I have a syspreped image.

I pxe boot to the kace and capture the wim image

my tasks on my Image are:

PRE:

Create single partition

Format C: as NTFS

MID: Driver Feed Windows 7 Images.

 

I have tried using the Install visat/08/7/8/12 MBR but neither work. i keep getting deployment failed see log.

  • from the main imaging window can you open a command window and run diskpart. check the partition is there and is it large enough to hold the image. - SMal.tmcc 10 years ago
  • I have checked the partition and disk and the partition is there with enough space. here is the log from the failed attempt

    • Just like Smal stated, it looks like you don't have enough free space:

      Are you capturing more than one partition? You're pretask is only creating a single partition as C: but your deployment is looking for D: and obviously not finding it. - nheyne 10 years ago
  • I am only capturing 1 partition. the image capture showed me the
    C: system partition
    D: OS partion
    I captured only the D:
    I have even changed the create partition and name it D: instead of C: still did not work.
    Do i need to rebuild my image and prevent the system partition from being created and let it all stay as C: and then capture it? - ckil 10 years ago
    • I always recommend not bothering to capture the system partition, it does little good and mucks up your imaging config, as you are discovering. So yes, I would stick to a single partition on your image. - nheyne 10 years ago
    • on your master, you can try to just delete the system partition, use the install disk to repair just the one partition and recapture, if not start over with one partition on your master.

      I have never found any use for the second partition - SMal.tmcc 10 years ago
