KACE Scripting: I have uninstall Office 2013 in Task 1, and install Office 2016 in Task 2. When I run the script I get an error saying that two setup processes cannot run at the same time and only office 2013 is uninstalled.

How could I fix it? How can I make Task 2 wait for Task 1 to finish?

I try putting a Task in the middle which runs a batch file with only "TIMEOUT /T 60" but that is not working.

Ideas?

check the checkbox "wait for completion", that the task finishes before you start the next one.

Alternate would be a task chain with two scripts.

you should use the Office customization tool (OCT) of your Office 2016 Setup and enable remove previous installations

example guide: https://support.pdq.com/knowledge-base/1237

see Picture at step 5

and then just push your Office 2016 Installation to your devices. it will uninstall 2013 and install 2016 in one step

  • I followed that guide but the problem is that it doesen't FULLY uninstall 2013 and there are some odd problems with it. I have fixed it now using the "wait for completion option. - marcoeangeli 6 years ago
