"Legacy Wise" Scripting for Windows Installer
I was always very disappointed to see that the Windows Installer version of Wise did not utilize the same authoring metaphors that legacy Wise did. I loved the WiseScript and the visual UI that automatically updated it for common tasks...unfortunately their Windows Installer product was not designed with a similar philosophy.
So I wrote a new product which does [:D] Its called InstallAWARE and I'm even offering a 30% discount on all its editions for members of this forum. Please see the "Packaging" forum for the InstallAWARE discount offer and a brief introduction to InstallAWARE.
In short, IA has the same metaphors - the visual UI which creates the underlying script, and the visual script editor which can be used to develop conditionally branching and executing setup code. When you build your setup, you automatically get a legal, logo-certifiable MSI database, and without having touched a single Windows Installer database on your own.
Enjoy!
