Newer Dell Towers not checking in after WoL
Hello,
I rely on WoL from the Kace SMA to wake computers in my environment up for our patch schedules. We started to get the newer Optiplex 7000 towers delivered for installs. I had to configure the Dell BIOS to allow WoL.
Sending the magic packet definitely brings the machine out of sleep but the screen stays dark. I can see the power supply turn on, and wiggling the mouse immediately brings me to the login screen. However, after I hear the machine turn on, it will never check-in or show online until I wiggle the mouse to bring the actual screen on.
Is this a problem with the towers, power policy at my org, or something else? Has anyone else hit this issue? Any models older than the 7000s (7040, 7060, 7090, etc) have no issues waking up at all.

Sounds to me like maybe the device is going into a sleep mode that is not manageable? Have you tried the article here?: Newer Dell system models will not Wake-On-LAN with Deep Sleep Control set to S5 in the Windows | Dell Canada
