Following dunnpy and dchristian posts, copy all the files from your disc to a folder on your system. Run setup.exe /admin from a cli or from run. Complete your unattended setup, save the .msp file inside the same folder. ZIP everything up including the .msp file. Upload it to your kace device with the following command setup.exe /adminfile filename.MSP .

There are plenty of posts on this site and Microsoft sites about customising Office 2007.

Run setup.exe /admin to bring up the customisation tool that enables you to modify the installation and create an installation .MSP file with the customisations contained.

Thanks,

Dunnpy

  • I actually followed this tutorial. When I am finished It shows the computers it is to be deployed to but never deploys. After a week of rebooting computers it still has not deployed. Has anyone else seen this? - ohiosoundguy 12 years ago
  • What happens when you run setup.exe /adminfile yourfile.msp from the command line? Does it install? It's probably a silly mistake tripping you up. - dchristian 12 years ago
    • When I do that it installs fine. It just seems like it doesn't try to run in kace. logs just say it will be installed on those machine but then never installs. - ohiosoundguy 12 years ago
  • I bet its something with the way the file was zipped...

Did you remember to zip the contents of the folder, not the folder itself? That way when the kbox extracts it, the files are at the root. Also posting a screen shot would really help - dchristian 12 years ago
    • Yup that is what I did. I believe I zipped it with winrar though. Maybe I will try re-zipping it with windows. - ohiosoundguy 12 years ago
      • Can you also post a screen shot of your managed install? A pic is worth a 1k words. - dchristian 12 years ago
  • I am a little busy with some other issues right now but I will try to get a screenshot and post it later this week. Thanks. - ohiosoundguy 12 years ago
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
