Offline KScript, Smart Label, issue

Hi all,

Since i do not have access to Quest support I thought i would try in here. I have created a smart label that check for 3 things

1. Computer name is a specific device
2. Software title "Symanted Endpoing Protection
3. Software version is xxx

line 2 and 3 is in their own groups

My Offline KScript is targeting the smart label and we have 3 tasks under success

It basically remove Symantec in task 1, run runkbot.exe 4 0 in task 2 and force a restart after 5 minutes in task 3

We have verified all 3 steps works. it remove symantec, it checks in and restart.

The problem is that it keeps running the offline kscript after every restart, even though it is no longer part of the smart label.

Any ideas?

  • can you provide a screen shot of the smart label - SMal.tmcc 5 years ago
  • I thought i did. one sec :) - RippieUK 5 years ago
  • I have modified it so in verification i check for C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Enterprise Protection\
On Success i then have the same 3 tasks. that does seem to fix my issue.

But still odd since after the reboot the machine has checked in, KACE knows its no longer in the smart label but the offline script continues to run on every start up. bit odd. - RippieUK 5 years ago

In your smart label you are adding groups use add line instead.
