We have a few computer where in the past couple of weeks they have been having increasingly more problem opening SharePoint files or files in OneDrive.  PDFs and non-Office files are fine, but when opening Excel, Word, etc, the application opens the splash screen and you can see "Opening https://blahblahblah.sharepoint.com/blahblahblah" and it just sits there.  Sometimes you can click the X on the splash screen and it will close, but it leaves a copy of excel.exe, winword.exe, or whatever app open for each file you open.  

Also, shortly after this issue started happening, Outlook started to be problematic where at a random time during the day it would stop sending and receiving email.  Right clicking on the Outlook icon in the systray and checking the connection status would show Authn in Error.

I saw an article that suggested turning off the OneDrive setting "Use Office applications to sync office files that I open" but that did not work.
