Oracle 10g Install

Hi there,
Please is there any reason why Oracle 10g should not be install to the Program Files Folder?

It would seem to me that you are asking this so as to bea bel to have all apps in the Program Files Folder.

I myself like to keep to this standard yet for Oracle have accepted that it is in the root of C:

I also feel that most Oracle programers expect it to be there so if there are calls to the app then there would not be any problems.

I do not know the operational aspect of Oracle except for installaing the app so I can not even sure if it ever gets "called"

Maybe an Oracle DBA can answer this.

Most Oracle DBAs don't know much about this client to begin with. From experience Oracle does not care where it is installed to but if you do not use the default path some applications might not work with Oracle as they are hard coded as to where to find Oracle client components.
