Oracle 11g ODBC driver install

Is there a way to run the odbc_install.exe without a user being logged into the pc?

Currently if I execute this it seems to run successfully but the machine never sees the new odbc driver installed.

I have scripted everything else out but having issues with the ODBC driver actually being installed because a user is not logged in during the installation.

Any ideas?

You can use pstools-psexec to push to machines, it does a remote login so the driver would install.  If you have a group of machines you can use a text file and install it to all one after another.

  • Do you do this currently? If so do you mind sharing what PSEXEC command you run? - lawson23 11 years ago
    • have not for that exe but have for mysql drivers. you will want the silent switch for the exe so it is hands free.
see my one answer to this question about how to word psexec to call an exe.

did you look thru this page to see if that is any help?

      • No matter what I do I have not been able to get PSEXEC to work. I have tried many different switches. The suggested oracle link only holds data to the full client not the odbc drivers only. - lawson23 10 years ago
