Hello Ninjas,

I know how to chained msi with Installshield but not with the "msi generator" in the Pace suite. (i'm a beginner with this product)

Do you know if it is possible and how ?

  • you will need the msi editor and then you are into creating a custom action to 'nest installs'. its not pretty - Badger 10 years ago

...but neither is MSI Generator. Tried it, hated it.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of chained MSIs. Use your deployment system to deploy mulitple MSIs. - anonymous_9363 10 years ago

Thank you for your interest in PACE Suite and for your questions!

At the moment PACE Suite does not provide special functionality to add chained MSI packages, but this can be done manually via the Tables tab of MSI Editor (part of PACE Suite).

More information about Multiple-Package Installations you can find here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/bb736316%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

Please note that chained MSI could have issues on some platforms and with MSP.
