Piggyback K1 Replication Servers?

Hey Folks,

I'm curious, is there a way to "piggyback" replication from the K1000?

For example: We have all our offices replicate from our HQ. But if we were to have our Korean Office Replicate from our UK office rather than come all the way back to the states they'd see better speed and we'd experience time eating up the bandwidth.

Does the K1000 Replication only work directly from the K1000 Server? Or is there a way to point it to the other Replication server that I have set up?

Answer Summary:
It's not currently a feature that's available. But feel free to vote for it here: http://kace.uservoice.com/forums/82699-k1000/suggestions/3579040-cascading-k1000-replication-shares

As far as I know, it's not a feature in the K1000.  You might be able to create a task to copy over the replication and then force a replication from the K1000 to sync up what's there.  I guess it's possible.

Either way, cascading replication shares is a pretty good idea. Submit it here: http://kace.uservoice.com/forums/82699-k1000

  • Thanks Jknox! We'll survive by simply jimmy rigging the replication times so none of our remote offices are affected by the bandwidth issue.

I'd like to take this time to encourage anyone reading to go throw a few points into Cascading K1 replication servers! http://kace.uservoice.com/forums/82699-k1000/suggestions/3579040-cascading-k1000-replication-shares - samzeeco 11 years ago
