Printer ticket tracking

I was wondering if anyone knows a way to track printer repairs with tickets. I created printer assets and selected it under the ticket, but when I checked the asset it has no tickets tied to it. We would like to be able to log our printer issues for reports by printer.

You would need to add printers to the asset management module.

From here it can be linked to any existing tickets.

Thanks for the reply David, but it there a way to tag the tickets to the printer asset like the Kace does with computers? We would like to be able to open the printer asset and see all the tickets for that printer like we can do for each computer.

I know this would be possible with a custom SQL report...

Not sure if there's an easier way to do this.

The tickets support having an asset assigned, like a projector, printer, etc. but there's few if any reports for assets because you build them and every environment is custom, therefore canned reports are hard to have. In this case you'd need to build a report, and it can likely be done easily through the wizard depending on what you wanted.

Too bad the asset detail page (https://kbox/adminui/asset.php?ID=##) doesn't show the tickets linked to the asset...

we were able to create a report using the reporting wizard and selecting category as a view. Then we have a printing category with sub-categories for each printer, after that we can see which printers were involved in a ticket. Thanks for all the advice, reporting is the way to go on this one.
