Problem on connecting to sql server 2012 express and creating application catalog database.

i am getting error on [DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen(Connect().]SQL Server does not exist or access denied. I can ping that server though

  • I suspect that the latter part of that message is the relevant one - 'Access denied'. Check the set-up of the SQL Server. Did you, for example, elect to have mixed authentication of just SQL Server authentication? That's where I'd be looking. Download and use SQL Server Management Studio and see if you can connect to the server and open the database, for example. - anonymous_9363 10 years ago
