Question...
Hi all.
Being a novice at App Deploying (but I'm learning) I have checked past posts to try and answer my question for me, but with no luck. So my question is is there anyway you can deploy .cab files?
I know .cabs are archives, and this one in particular has a setup.inf and an ActiveX control in it, so I was wondering if there was a way I could deploy it centrally, rather than visiting each workstation?
Any help would be gratefully received,
Ian

Deplends on what you mean by deploy and what you are using to deploy. If you are looking simply to get the .cab file on every machine, you can do it if you have a deployment tool such as SMS. If you're using AD to deploy, then no, you can only send out .msi files.
If you are looking to actually install the compressed files within a .cab file, you could open it in winzip, decompress, then send out all the individual files, but its not recommended.
Could you provide some details about what you're doing to need to send out cab files?
