Removing LDAP labels - or limiting them
Good Morning!
When we had our JumpStart we did some playing around with LDAP imports. Since then we've created labels (both "Smart" and not so smart ones) and I would like to limit the list to only those labels for machine inventory. Here's the scenario: a machine is added in inventory - and it is automatically added to a smart label based on it's IP address and model. From there - based on it's actual physical location it needs to be manually added to another label for that and another for its departmental use. When you go to add the labels you have to scroll through so many imported LDAP entries to find the label you need - it's very annoying.
I have tried to limit the labels to "Users" but they still appear in the list when viewing the computers inventory. I have tried removing them all together - but they "come back" when users are imported.
Is there a way to limit the labels?
Thanks for any assistance!

LDAP labels were likely created when you did an LDAP import, this can be handy- but also slightly annoying if you're importing ALL of your security groups. The issue is that while it creates them, it does not build the queries for them so they are empty. To delete an LDAP label you must first delete the ldap portion, then you can delete the label portion. Same goes for Smart labels
