SCCM cannot get a simple reboot in a Task Sequence to work

I have a simple TS to reboot prior to my install of java.  I have moved it around and even built a new TS that is simply doing a reboot.  I get the following: failed to reboot the machine because the service window is not available.

I do have my packages set to install outside the maintainace window. Apps work fine inside the TS just cannot get a reeboot to take place.

i have had this before and what i would do is check the maximum runtime of the advertisement against the maintainance windows as i have seen some fail because of the window being 2 hours long and maximum runtime for the advertisement also being 2 hours, even though the advertisement was set to run outside the Window

  • Well that was not the problem but your answer forced me to be super critical at looking at the advert. I found that I had failed to check “allow a shutdown outside the maint. Windowâ€. I am new to this and I was selecting to allow the advert. to run, but failed to read closely what was before me. Thanks for forcing me to look more critically. Another help was getting the message windows to display which we usually do not use. The error was access denied which also forced me to think and ask why? Now if Java/oracle would just get their act together ïŠ - J.M. 11 years ago
