secure remote

Hi,

I am scripting a application called secure remote. After installing the application in a machine it breaks the network connectivity.

example: after installing it does not let me connect to server called \\sqwert1.

It throws an error.

any clue on this?

That is not an error. Unfortunately, when the installation binds to the network adapter the network connection is lost. There is no workaround for the issue.

Also, the installation adds a key to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce to do some post install logging and cleanup. You must be a local admin for the first reboot after install.

I am currently working on this same package. If you have any other questions or some helpful tips please let me know.

I am packaging "Checkpoint SecureClient NG AI Build R54" This version adds a HKLM\RunOnce of "C:\PROGRA~1\INSTAL~1\{8ECF2~1\setup.exe -rebootC:\PROGRA~1\INSTAL~1\{9FCF2~1\reboot.ini "

I dont know exactly what this does right now. I am going to install Checkpoint and then start a capture and reboot and see what it does on reboot. It looks like it might be just used for logging and any custom post-install actions you want it to perform. Mayhap this step is not needed.

How goes your success in packaging?

If I am not mistaken, the administrative portion of this software allows you to customize the install. If you modify one of the ini files before the the build is complied, you can make the install completely unattended. Sorry I don't remember which ini file it was. My companies install shows the full screen background and progress windows only. That is until we moved to R56 (there are vulnerabilties is all prior versions), but thats a whole different issue.

I have solved it.actually i deleted some registry keys under HKLM\system\current controlset which is related to tcp\ip.Now installation and the functionality is fine.I am having a problem during uninstallation.

That is because, there are 7 services in this application. Two services are not stopped during uninstallation. So it throws an error.

I will stop and delete the services using services tab in wise package studio5 or else i will write a custom action using pskill to kill those process.

Any thoughts on this?

You can use Wise 5.0 making changes to your Service Control table.

I`am too on this package [:'(]

Dont ask me, why i have to package this Release at 2007 -.-

Checkpoint SecureClient Build R54 [:)] - VPN-1 SecuRemote

I have trouble to get the "Check Point SecuRemote Service" Service startet

Unfortunately i have to repackage the whole thing :-( I install the drivers with DPinst - that part works well. I have no issue, why the 2nd Service doenst start...
The Errormessage is: "The Service started and then stopped. Some Services stop automatically, if they have no work to do.." By installing by hand - both Services running after reboot..

At rebooting the Message "VPN Visible.exe" Not found appears.... No such File is in the Package [:@]

I hope someone could remember some hints from 2004 [sm=rolleyes.gif]
