Session.Property in PowerShell

Hi guys,

is it possible to use a property out of an MSI in powershell? In VbsScript I can use it with the Session.Property() commmand but I dont find any information about how to do it in powershell.

Would be nice if someone can help me out

Stephan

There is no Powershell Custom Action type for Windows Installer:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/aa372048(v=vs.85).aspx

But you could potentially pass the value you retrieve via VBScript into a Powershell script as a parameter?  I think the closest you get to using Powershell is this:

http://psmsi.codeplex.com/

But it can't be used from a CA for an Installer session (Although I only glanced at it...).  What are you trying to achieve?

  • Hi, thx for the answer.
I was trying to archive the same as with VBS, just to expend my horizon ;)
So I will go back to VBS.
Thx for that - mac-duff 12 years ago
