Software Update Install - Excel Viewer 2007 SP3
Hi All
We have a 10 machines in our environment with excel viewer 2007 installed. There is an SP3 update availabe for this package so we wanted to update the software.
On a test machine I installed excel viewer and SP3 update. Did the force update in K1000 and excel viewer software record updated. But i can not see SP3 update record anywhere. So i can not create the software distribution to apply this update to 10 machines.
Is there a way to apply software update which is not in Software inventory and Patch catalog? Or what is the right way to achieve this?

If it's not in the Software or Patch catalog you can still install it using the scripting feature. If it's an MSI then the standard /q parameter should give you the silent install.

Following key will get changed while upgrading to sp3:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\GUID DisplayVersion or Version .
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\GUID DisplayVersion or Version .
