Solarwinds Log and Event Manager Agent installation?

Does anyone have this deploying right?  It appears simple but I'm doing something wrong.  The download from Solarwinds includes just setup.exe.  I toss in a file called installer.properties with our appliance info, then zip those two files together and uplod them to deploy with the manual config line of "setup -i silent"

But, it's not working and I can't figure out what file(s) to look at for a clue why.  So I'm hoping for a screenshot of the deployment screen.

When I unzip the file to my PC and navigate to it using DOS, then running that command line, it installs fine on my PC, so I'm pretty sure I'm just doing something wrong on the K1000 side.

Thanks!

  • Did you get this figured out? I am trying to accomplish the same thing and then export it to the K2000. Thanks! - abratton 7 years ago
  • Yeah, it's installing with the setup -i silent command above. I don't know what to say about the exporting to 2000. I don't use images (just can't seem to get it working). The 2000 is seriously kludgy and 1990s-ish. - DanHarmon 7 years ago

Does it require administrator rights to install?  For your package, are the .exe and the properties file at the root of the zip file?

Enable debug on a test client and run your install again: http://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/solutiondetail?sol=SOL112035
