Stop App-V package In use in 4.6 SP1

Hello

Im currently using App-V 4.6 SP1 Client. If any of the shortcut of the App-V package is running i can Package Status in Console as "InUse(100%)".
Is there any command i can run to stop the running and the status should be seen as "Idle(100%)

"SFTTRAY /exit" closes the SFTTRAY program and all active virtual applications and removes the icon from the Windows notification area.

Not sure what will happen when you go to relaunch an application, I guess it would relaunch SFTTRAY.EXE as that is what the launching shortcut invokes to run the application.

Hope that helps,

  • Sfttray /exit would close down all the virtual applications, however this is not ideal as users might be using the other virtual apps. hence wanted to know if anything would shutdown a specific app which would be really useful.
I cant understand why has microsoft made it so complicated and not provided a simple command to shutdown a specific virtual app. - Sujit J 11 years ago
  • Microsoft have a Virtual Application Listing Tool that might be able to give you the PID or some other information that might allow you to force close an application with a taskkill.

I've not had a chance to look it myself, so I don't know how useful it will be. - dunnpy 11 years ago
