TeamViewer Deployment via Kace
Wanted to see if anyone has a liable solution to deploy TeamViewer v7.0 via KACE.
Currently getting same ID for all the roll outs we have and have to go manually to each PC to remove the regiestry to generate a new ID.
Please help!

If you (and you should in a corporate environment) have a license, download the MSI installer from: http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/msi.aspx
This guide should give you enough pointers to get you started: ftp://77.222.150.84/Soft/TeamViewer-6.0.11117_RePack/TeamViewer%20Install%20Original%20&%20MSI%20Package%20RePack/ReadMe.pdf

Oh, sorry I forgot to mention I have no idea how to deploy via KACE, but I guess if you have an MSI, it should not be a problem. - andemats 12 years ago

Thanks for the info, but MSI file isnt a problem to deploy via KACE. It is the aftermath of the ID which is a pain to change for each PC. - hjansari 12 years ago

I seriously doubt the vendor MSI sets the same ID on all PC's.
I've used an older version of the TeamViewer MSI, and did not have this issue.
Do you have the vendor MSI, or did you build/snapshot your own MSI?
If you did build your own MSI, make sure you did not add the ID information (in the registry) from your packaging machine. - andemats 12 years ago -
Noted, I will check this whilst I create the MSI. What packaging tool do you use at your end and what do you recommend? - hjansari 12 years ago

I use Wise at the current customer and that's what I feel most comfortable with, but I guess I'll be going for Admin Studio next as they killed Wise. - andemats 12 years ago
A MSI should be relatively simple under a managed install. Usually, you can find what the install parameters are by navigating to the MSI from a command prompt and typing "file.msi /?" or "file.msi /help"

Is there a workaround if you don't have a network share as we don't have a domain controller as yet? - hjansari 12 years ago

You can create a share on any windows workstation - SMal.tmcc 12 years ago

ok.. - hjansari 12 years ago

You can connect to any workstation by \\workstationname\share. If you allow everyone access to the share you will not need authentification or you can setup a local account to attach with. - SMal.tmcc 12 years ago

Do not start teamviewer after installing. wait till you deploy before starting.
