Uninstall old versions and install te new one

Hi ,

I need a script to uninstall old versions of Adobe Flash and Shockwave by checking the registries and installing the new version after uninstall or if not present. Please guide.I have no Idea about Scripting.

In most cases uninstalling the old version of these two programs before installing the new version is not necessary but...

Adobe makes these standalone unistallers for flash:

and for shockwave:

I would write a simple script to call the uninstaller then the installer. If yo need help for what flags and such to use for Flash installation, please reference ITNINJA's Deployment Tip database http://www.itninja.com/software/browse/a?keyword=flash&WithTips=1

  • Thanks, But I am not able to un-install silently. It does not do anything with the silent switch.

Are you going to run the script manually, task sequence (SCCM) or through GPO? Adobe have a cleaning tool that does what you ask:
