Uninstalling Skype For Business with Office365 is not working
Hey itninja's,
I am facing a problem with Office365. I made a deployment via SCCM/ODT to install Office365. And I have checked that skype for business, onedrive and teams is not installed. This works fine and when I install it I don't see these 3 applications as expected.
However I am notiticing that since a few month ago the computers are getting automatic Skype For Business. I am not sure from where it comes (there is no other deployment that is running, I start to suspect windows/office updates)
Now I have decided to uninstall Skype For Business from all computers without reinstalling the whole office 365. I have read this article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/office-deployment-tool-configuration-options
And made this configuration xml
<Configuration> <Remove> <Product ID="SkypeforBusinessRetail"> <Language ID="en-us"/> <Language ID="nl-nl"/> </Product> <Product ID="LYNC"> <Language ID="en-us"/> <Language ID="nl-nl"/> </Product> </Remove> </Configuration>And I am using this command line to run it:.\setup.exe /configure uninstall.xml
I also see that the installers is running and it doing something but upon completion Skype FOr Business (aka lync.exe) is still present on the computer
I am probably doing something wrong here. Could somebody point me in the right direction? Is it even possible to uninstall skype for business aka lync.exe from the computer? There is also nothing in appwiz.cpl that I can see to remove it from the computer.
Thanks in advance

If Skype for business is showing in your KACE Software inventory as an item, why not create a managed installation and use the Uninstall command found on that Software inventory page

I am using SCCM and not KACE Software and I can not find it anywhere on Resource Explorer or appwiz or get-ciminstance
I suspect that I cannot find it because it is somehow an part of office 365 and is not showing anywhere - comicsserg 9 months ago
