Updating K1000 to 5.4 results in failed/halted update due to DB size
Our "kbox_dbdata.gz" file is approximately 1GB. I'm not sure what the database holds, but I'm having problems updating to 5.4 due to the file size being over 150MB according to this page:
http://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/article/Steps-to-download-and-upgrade-Dell-Kace-K1000-Appliance-Software-to-version-5-4
What does this database file hold? Everything? And why can't I upgrade? Is there any way to upgrade?

There was a link for this, but it has since been deactivated.

May need to open a support ticket with Kace.

The 1GB is much too big. in 5.3 the K1 ran into a database issue.
I suggest to run the following patch:
https://support.kace.com/packages/kb_attachments/95/kbox_patch_sizereport.kbin
This does not change anything on your box but creates a text file called sizereport.txt which can be found in the samba share ( \\yourKBox\client\sizereport.txt )
You should send this report to the support. They can decide how to solve the issue. (usually done via webex or tether) - Nico_K 11 years ago
It is a backup of your KACE database.
Make sure you have done everything you can to clean up your db.
Delete unused patches, already deployed software that's not needed, and turn off agent retention, Then make a new backup and it may get you where you need to be. If not support will have to optimize the db.
