Upgrading MS Office 2003 to Ms Office 2007
Hello:
I am upgrading ms office 2003 to office 2007 .After installing Office 2003 On the top of that if i install Office 2007 it is giving 2 options Upgrade and Customize. If i click on customize and removed unwanted features then the ms office 2007 is installing fine. But after installing i launch any shortcut it is going for confiration settings i mean to say that a dialouge box is appearing that configuration is in progress after that it is asking for reboot.I dont know y it is asking for the reboot after giving the property as SETUP_REBOOT=Never. So i want to suppress the Configuration dialouge and as well as Reboot.
Please suggest....

Any reason you are going to 2007? I highly suggest skipping it and going with 2010. Especially considering 2013 is already out.

The main problem i found with going to office 2010 Microsoft recommend using a KMS to manage licenses as opposed to MAK, but what Microsoft Fail to tell you is that KMS service requires a server 2008 R2 server or higher to run. this pretty much killed off our office 2010 upgrade as our KMS server was 2008 R1 - sparky86 11 years ago

We had Server 2003 running as a KMS host for Win7/Office 2010 clients...I believe there was a patch or 2 from MS to make it work for older server OSs. However a Win8/Office 2013 KMS host does require 2008 R2 or higher. Might be best to be current at this point anyway. We just recently migrated so Win8/Server 2012/Office 2013 and everything below is licensed via KMS. - jegolf 11 years ago
