Using the uninstall rather than install in sccm 2012
Hi
im having an issue with something i have just tried for the first time today
i have a various amount of appv applications (version 5) which deploy fine as an install using sccm 2012 sp1 through software center
i have now copied the programs and created deployments which are required and set to UNINSTALL rather than install
When I deploy the uninstall it doesn’t remove the application and I get error OX87D0128E (-2016406989) and I get removal failed to remove the software incorrectly
has anyone had any issues doing this?, i was hoping this would be easy to achieve but appears not
FURTHER TO THIS - i have found its due to a conflict between the app-v deployments
i cant have an uninstall and install using the program or rules clash
if i split them it says cant run as another deployment type is already using this?
regards
Chris

How are deploying the v-app, through MSI, or natively through sccm?

Humm, im still new to SCCM2012, but I would thought it you removed it fom the collection it would just remove it on the next policy refresh (based on my SCCM2007 knowledge which could be totally wrong for SCCM2012)
If this was SCCM2007 I would have a App-V package in SCCM (not a Package with Programs). I would then advert that Package to a collection. After a policy refresh, down it comes. If I wanted to remove it, I would remove the PC from the collection. You can get fancy with AD groups etcbut I wont go into that.
Does that clear some things up? - rileyz 11 years ago -
yeah they have removed the tick box to remove app when out of groups
which is stupid i know haha - keane2012 11 years ago -
yeah i understand that
doesnt work like that in sccm 2012 - keane2012 11 years ago -
Ohh, lame, may as throw half of the SCCM2007 knowledge I have out the window. Gah something else I need to learn for SCCM2012. - rileyz 11 years ago
