What are the effects of going over licensing?

We're currently over our licensing. Getting a quote on additional seats, but does anyone know what the effects of going over licensing are, while we wait for quotes? (Does a computer not process login scripts? Are there error messages? We have version 9.

Thanks.

You can install as many agents on endpoints that are supported as you like but no more then what you are licensed for will check in. You can, while you are waiting to purchase more seats, install the agent on those machines. They won't check in until you apply the new license with the new seat count.

So in short, no big deal in going over.

Over licensing on what? I would normally assume your referring to the K1000 box, but that doesn't have a version 9 afaik.

  • They tagged Desktop Authority. I'm assuming that's what they're talking about? I don't use it so I don't have an answer. - dugullett 11 years ago
    • Ahh, I bet your right. I didn't notice the tag. I have no experience with that software. - Ben M 11 years ago
  • That's correct, I was posting in what I thought was the Desktop Authority topic. This new forum makes a lot of things very vague and non-specific in that manner. sorry. Thanks for the answers - gmmoon 11 years ago

Can you clarify your question? What product specifically are you using?

Under the link "Registration" you will find the information about the number of licenses already in use. Used Seats for machines that have not reported for more than 3 days will be re-enabled.
