What is the largest number of agents that you maintain or have maintained from a single server?

My system now has around 17,000 agents in our various orgs and i was wondering if there is a hard limit,
or possibly a soft limit where most people tend to run into issues and need to look into a second box.

What brings this up for us is an error that we sometimes see after the server has been inaccessible for sometime i.e. backups.

[Mon Jul 27 04:59:03 2015] [error] server reached MaxClients setting, consider raising the MaxClients setting

We have various reasons for not wanting to split off a second server including licensing issues and doubling the management overhead in terms of scripts etc.

I am guessing that someone from within Dell will be able to confirm, but we usually estimate up to 15k agents per K1200, a recent deal here in Europe was for 30k clients and 2 x K1200 were sold in to manage the workload, so you are "pushing the envelope" just a little

We currently have between 1500-1600 agents across two separate Domains and ~30 different locations across the continental US. We also have KACE running on our own physical server, not As-A-Service or on a Dell server. The performance we're experiencing is great considering the limited workload.
