Windows Easy Transfer Cannot Open File USMT 10
Since upgrading to USMT 5.0 then 10 I am unable to open the downloaded USMT mig file I am getting the error "Windows Easy Transfer Cannot Open File" This is happening when migrating from Win 7 to Win 7 specifically. Any help is much appreciated, I have followed the instructions for installing waik and uploading the files through the k2000 media manager.

The USMT 10 documentation states that the new file format is not compatible with Windows 7. There is a flag you can add that will direct scanstate.exe to create a MIG that is compatible with either Windows 7 or Windows 8.
