Note

This package is relatively simple. The single file executable provided by the vendor is just a wrapper for a cab archived MSI file. You can easily extract the MSI file by running the setup and before continuing through, retrieve the MSI from C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Installations (on XP).

Deployment is straightforward. Licensing is relatively easy to automate, the program will prompt you for licensing information when it is first run. Fill it out with your license, then click save. A file called "xmlspy.lic" is created in C:\Program Files\Altova\XMLSpy2005. Copy this to wherever you keep your installation source and use a script to copy this file into the program folder after the MSI installation completes.

When another user runs this app after install, it goes looking for the original MSI. Make sure that your users have read access to the install MSI by using the SOURCELIST= property.
