install cmd:
setup.msi /qb INSTALL_DESKTOP_SHORTCUT="no" TARGETDIR="C:\Program Files (x86)\Balsamiq Mockups"
if you leave off the target location, the msi installs to the c:\ root
register software cmd:
there may be a trick to this, but i found i need Mockups open for this cmd to run. So open Mockups, open an cmd prompt and then run the following - "<path to executable>\Balsamiq Mockups.exe" REGISTER "<lic name>" "<lic key>"
unregister software:
same notes for register apply, just change then cmdln from 'register' to 'unregister'. again, Mockups needed to be open. "<path to executable>\Balsamiq Mockups.exe" UNREGISTER "<lic name>" "<lic key>"
Credit to the makers, they do supply multiple install types.
Here how i did it for SCCM deployment. download the windows version MockupsForDesktop.exe, simply extract all files. Copy them with the msi to where you need them. load the msi in a cmdln - you need a quiet switch or it wont run and the other files need to be kept in the same path as the msi. ensure that you include TARGETDIR in cmdln otherwise it will install to the c:\ root. The only odd thing i found was the you needed Mockups open to register the key via cmd prompt, which is easy with powershell - just make the process hidden. I am sure there is another way to do it, but time/cost/effort not worth finding out. See the Command Lines category for a little more detail of the cmdlns.
